FAQ for BROKERS

If you are brokering and/or "locating" goods, you may want to read our information on the Surplus/Liquidation business, which can be found below. However, we have suspended our operations with others who broker goods. We will not be entering into any additional agreements with other brokers, nor accepting goods they have located.
We currently only work with actual Sellers & Buyers (see Definitions).
If you are not an actual Seller or Buyer,
please do not contact us with your "offers".
DEFINITIONS:

SELLER: A Person, or Company and its employees as defined by the IRS, who legally owns and has actual possession of the goods with no liens or encumbrances of any kind.

BUYER: The Person, or Company and its employees as defined by the IRS, who actually pays for and takes full legal possession of goods.

You may be subject to providing verifiable references unless you are a Nationally Recognized Company. This is not to be construed as discriminatory since Nationally Recognized Companies are easily verifiable through our normal means.

THE SURPLUS, LIQUIDATION BUSINESS
- THE REAL STORY -

NEW TO THE BUSINESS OR
LOOKING TO GET INTO THE SURPLUS, LIQUIDATION BUSINESS?

Have you bought information telling you how to get into this business, but feel like something has been left out?   There seems to be a lot of confusion and sometimes misinformation out there.

Other companies are selling books and "courses" from as little as $30 to as much as $6,000 or more. Some of them offer to "certify" you as a "Certified Liquidator".
Note: There are no certification or education requirements in this business. However, some states may require licensing or permits to sell or broker some types of merchandise.
(Example: In Texas, you cannot sell or broker distressed food, drugs or cosmetics unless you are licensed through the Department of Health. You should check with YOUR state for laws such as this.)

What happens if you tell a buyer about a product and it isn't what they were expecting?
Can they take you to COURT?

What is the UCC?
Some may mention the Uniform Commercial Code, but they don't tell you how this could effect you and how to protect yourself.
